Founded in 2005 by Johnathan Edwards Sr, Money Cutz is an organization of skilled service professionals, originating from Johnathan's personal journey. Raised by a single mother with his two siblings, financial constraints often prevented visits to the barbershop. On his birthday, Johnathan requested clippers, beginning his self-taught hair cutting journey. He practiced the strokes he felt from his barber, starting with cutting his own hair. Despite initial mistakes and ridicule in high school, he persevered, eventually building a client base over 17 years. Johnathan's dedication to his craft led to the establishment of Money Cutz, symbolizing a strong clientele and adaptability, having cut hair in various unconventional locations.

In 2021, Johnathan enhanced his skills at Midwest Barber Academy, obtaining his license and opening the first Money Cutz Barbershop in Joliet, Illinois. The barbershop aims to offer more than haircuts, focusing on high-level customer service, luxurious appeal, and a welcoming, family-oriented atmosphere.
